2014 528xi M-Sport

Guys,

Im looking to upgrade the wheels on my new lease 2014 528xi M-Sport.

I wanted to go with a staggered setup in maybe 19s or 20s but have been advised against doing that at the risk of damaging the transmission. Is that true?

Does the 528 not have enough power to support the added weight of staggered rears and whatever else might be an issue?

Anyone else with 2014 528 try a staggered setup?

There won't be any issue. The car won't know the difference as long as the diameter of the new wheels are equal. Vista BMW in FL sells ton's 528's with 20' staggered rims.

I run staggered 20" m5 reps on my xdrive 528 and I have zero problems. Lots of people do it. As long as the diameter of the wheels and tires are close the car won't recognize the difference. Go for it!

No not Avant Garde they are off eBay, just as good in my opinion and a lot less. I'm running Hankook Ventus V12 since I have 351's with Blizzaks for "winter"

Staggered wheels on an X-Drive is not an issue as long as you choose tires that keep the rolling diameter of your front and rear wheels identical (or within a very small percentage difference). In fact X-Drives are available with staggered wheels in some European markets.
