f10 n55 JB4 battery drain issue

Anyone else having this issue on a regular basis or has anyone acquired a definite solution? Firmware is up to date, jb4 is correctly installed. Never had issue prior to jb4 install. My doors are locked at all time when not driving the car.

It's never prevented the car from starting...apparently the car shuts down electronics before battery fully drains. Either way it's annoying and I want to fix it.

Any help appreciated.

Hey Ben. Still having this issue? Did you ever call or contact BMS-Terry directly about this?

Have you tried completely removing the JB4 and see if the issue stops happening? You may very well have a battery drain issue with the car not related to the JB4....

I haven't tried it yet, but given that this issue only started right after installing JB4, it seems pretty clear cut. This combined with others on the forum experiencing same issue with jb4

How often do you drive your car?

I suggest driving without a jb4 for a week.

I would remove it first and go from there. I understand it happened at the same time. But it could be coincidence. I am a tech for BMW. We see battery drain issues ALL the time on F10s......

that's good to know. I'm still running the JB4 and haven't had the issue in a week, so maybe something has changed. If I get the problem again I'll disconnect it for a while. Terry at BMS claimed there is no known battery drain problem with JB4.

I have a 550i with a then BMS stage 1, now BMS stage 2 tune, when the weather in the North East began getting extremely cold I started getting errors about the battery not charging and electrical systems shutting down. The car always started and never gave me any issues. Last week I went in for scheduled maintenance / oil, and mentioned the battery errors/messages, in the end, they tried charging it while in service, but determined the battery wasn't taking a charge and they replaced it... errors gone and haven't seen it since.

I had a battery issue prior to installing jb4, it's common on the f10. I then installed jb4 and never had battery issue.

It seems like the battery that came with our cars are bad and dealers are replacing it with different batteries. Get it done before warranty expires. There will be no recall for this as it's not a safety issue.

You removed the JB4 before getting serviced, right?

How is the weather where you are? Were the battery drain messages coming up on colder days? Or starts where the car sat for a few days. Also do you drive very short trips frequently?

I'm in Nashville...it's been a cold winter but nothing compared to where you are. I didn't notice whether it was the cold weather days that affected it. It's been over a week and no issues, so keeping my fingers crossed that I'm in the clear. I don't do very short trips frequently... 20+ miles to work each way, about 30 minutes per trip.
