will order 535i
Hello,
My siblings and I will be buying our dad a 2012 BMW 535i. Any suggestion on the must have packages and options? My dad is 57 years old. Will ordering it with the M sport or sport package stiffen up the ride like the E90? We don't have very nice roads where we live. Thanks |

Premium package I would say. The power trunk should be vey useful. The trunks are pretty heavy on these cars. Also HUD, if he likes toys it also gives you different guage clusters. Also parking sensors since the car is somewhat large. Good luck!

Just checked, the M Sport indeed comes with beige on the 535i per BMWUSA.com. It's a great package--gives the car a great look and you are able to change the suspension settings at the flick of a button.

I got HUD on mine. I didn't know if I'd like it but its a really cool gadget. When you get HUD, you get the extended cluster as well. That's why I did it. Its 1300 bucks but worth it just for the cluster. It makes a huge difference to the interior. I consider the Heads up display a bonus.
Note, if your dad drives with polarized sunglasses on, the HUD won't work too well. In the 2012 models the HUD is now in color too. A nice bonus. - Jayson |

One more thing, I couldn't get this on the 528 but the soft close doors are nice too. The doors on the 5 are heavy and need to almost be slammed to get them shut properly. I noticed this when I first drove the car and again when I picked up mine. If I could have got the soft close door I would have.
Keyless entry is nice but for $1000 I don't know if its worth it. The car comes with keyless start standard. The key less entry is just for the doors. |

Play your cards right (old bromide I know), and I think you can pick that car up ED for about $56,500. Roughly. Lately, I've seen BMW ads offering $2500 off. If you get that too, then the price goes to $54,000.
Good luck! |
