$500 eco credit, What? :(

Well, guys I have been waiting for the $4,500 eco credit to place an order for a 535dx.

The eco credit finally came, but it is only $500.

I have to say I am really bummed out.

The price of the car, equipped the way I want it, is just a bridge too far.

I put a deposit on an FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition today.

I am keeping my 335d, and adding the FJ Cruiser for my 4x4 needs. both vehicles combined equal the price of the 535dx; I had priced out.

I think I will get more fun out of these two vehicles, as opposed to one 535dx.

Thanks guys for all your help over the last few months. I really thought they were going to give the $4,500 credit, and I was a buyer for sure, but...

The 535dx is a fantastic car, but not worth 335d + FJ Cruiser.

diesel - did you talk to a dealer or two? +/- $4500 in the grand scheme of a 5 series isn't much, I'd think? Just going off MSRP, you're bound to get a few thousand discount - owner loyalty and the holiday credits right now should get you at least a few thousand (maybe $2,500?).

In any case, best of luck with the FJ - they're interesting looking cars... never had a chance to drive one, but they look sturdy.

Yeah, I have talked to dealers until I was blue in the face. I was looking for a $1,500 holiday discount or something + $4,500 eco credit + $4,079 ED discount + True car below invoice pricing. I was hoping for a really deep discount.

I love my 335d, and I miss having a Toyota truck. Now I will have both, but damn that 535dx is a sweet car.

Now I have Germany and Japans finest...

U.S. WWII vets will be rolling in their graves.
