Norwegian M550xd Individual
Hi guys.
Just bought a new family car. Its a 2013 BMW M550xd, with only 1200 km on the counter. Ive been searching a while for the right one with the right specs. Too be honest, i wanted a white one, as i had before. But when i saw this one, i was sold. It has the nappa interiopr with leather dash and black interior. It has about a full spec list, only missing the active seats, back seat entertainment, fans in the seats and night vision. Probably something more as well, but that is what i can remember. Taken yesterday at the shop. Getting el towbar and Worsteiner carbon diffuser. Other mods will be front lip, darker front side windows, wrapped chromelist on handles, carbon emblems, carbon fender light cover, carbon grille, lowering and 21" wheels. Not sure about the wheels yet, but think i want the same as i had on my last one. Iforged Seven mesh, but with center in carbon. Here is my last one, 535d |

Told you on Facebook we needed to have a M550d Meet
For those who dont know, we work in the same company, and live about 10-12km from each other. The worst part about you getting this car Arne is that I know you will be modifying it, and that will make so much harder for me not to modify mine. |

Thanks guys, and hello Egil, og Noggie lol. There will be alot of mods on this one, because i want to keep this for a long time, and make it as i want to, with no consideration on a future sale. But everything that is being replaced will be kept. But these cars dont need many mods. Just lowering, wheels and some carbon.
But probably going for 405mm brakes as well on this one. National Oilwell is a good company to work for, no doubt. If you are home Noggie, come by tomorrow. |

I can come by tomorrow. My problem is that I'm not sure how long I want to keep it. But it will be for another year and a half at least I guess. Spring 2016 probably. Might replace it with an LCI M550d, or a true M5. |

Congrats, so you finally got yourself a M550d.
I've seen this for sale for a long time, and I found it weird since it look like a great car.

Very nice car, but at the time it was priced so close to a real M5 that I looked elsewhere. Ended up buying the white one 4-5 months later. This one is better equipped than mine though, and the price has come down a lot in the last year. This carbon black one has been for sale at a dealer just down the street from me for about two years now. http://www.finn.no/52615767 M550d is not the easiest car to sell for sure. |

I have had mine for 7 months and still have them on. Thought has crossed my mind to get gloss black grilles and possibly put black vinyl on the mirrors. But I don't want to make any irreversible mods. there are plenty of purists out there. I'm not a huge fan of carbon parts, unless it is a theme through the whole car. I hate chrome and feel like that is something for cars from the 50s and 60s and motorcycles. Problem for me is that if I start, I need to complete it. Can't do just the mirrors and/or the grille. Then I need a drop and wheels, and blankings for the reflectors, and a new turn indicator cover and then the snowball starts rolling and my bank account is bleeding. Right now, with a white car the titanium does not stand out, nor does the chrome on the handles and the indicators, so I'm actually content with not doing anything to it. |

If you don't mind me asking how much are you guys paying for 550s in Norway, I would assume a huge tax, correct?

Prices are converted from the official Norwegian BMW page. Prices actually looks better to you due to the recent development between the Usd and the Nok. Where the Usd has strengthened itself by about 20% in December. The Nok has taken a big hit due to the dropping oil price. A couple of months ago you could have added 20% in Usd due to the exchange rate. Here is what regular 5s cost, all prices in Usd with early January 2015 exchange rate. 550i starts at 160.000 535i starts at 107.000 528i starts at 80.000 M550d starts at 153.000 (xdrive standard) 535d starts at 110.000 530d starts at. 91.000 Most common Norwegian 5 is the 520d touring starting at 68.000usd. Add 5000 for touring Add 5000 for xdrive And 25.000-30.000 if you checked all the boxes in the options list. |

Congrats on your new car. Your previous alpine white F11 was a big inspiration for me when I modified mine, so it will be exciting to see what mods you pull out of the hat this time. Perhaps some Lamin-X tint would fit here. Any plans on quad exhaust? The M performance front lip in CF also looks stunning on black cars.
