There are no firmware files. The only thing the can tool does for the F10 is clear CEL from catless downpipes

You plug it in and the CEL goes away after a few minutes

Of course there are FW updates.

That just says it can be updated and where the firmware updates would be posted.

I've spoke with a representative and they're very conservative with any information about the CAN Tool, however they confirmed that there were not any FW updates to the CAN tool.

There's also a legacy CAN tool support thread over at North American motoring where the forum members discuss that there were no firmware updates. That, and there would probably be multiple support threads about it all over the different bimmer native forums.

The CAN tool does not hijack gauges on the F10, never has and never will. Unless someone hacks the software and gets it to work. All it does it stop the CEL from DP's. It doesn't respond to anything either, you plug it in and wait a few minutes until the CEL disappears. I have one from 2014 and that's what I use it for.
