Replacing lights with LEDs

I bought a new (to me) 2015 550i M sport that was loaded, but for some reason didnt have the LED package. Having had 7 previous BMWS of which most had it, I at least want the LED interior lights, turn signals etc. I dont think the HIDs are really worth swapping out (nor do I want the likely issues that come with it), but has anyone swapped out the turn signals and other Goodies? Are the side markers pre wired if I buy the OE stuff? Theretrofitsource.com lists all the bulbs, but ive just never had good luck swapping anything but reverse bulbs without some sort of resistor pack required, or warning lights coming on etc.

If theres a thread on it, id appreciate a link

Thank you

I swapped my turn signal bulbs to Spektrum brand leds and coded it with ESYS without any issues. Looks better too.

I've had these LED turn signal bulbs for almost 4 years now (https://smile.amazon.com/GFJMC-Amber...5092&sr=8-22):

And these for the repeaters in the mirrors (I didn't pay this much so keep your eye out for cheaper: https://smile.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Bli...65201&sr=8-2):

NO coding needed on either.

You don't necessarily need to code it for leds, but if you don't code out the cold and hot bulb checks, you'll notice the leds flicker once on startup and once every five minutes or so.

Is it possible to only code out the check for the turn signals, or do you have to disable the checks all together?

You code out each one separately. One for left blinker cold, one for left blinker hot, one for right blinker cold, one for right blinker hot. Each light and check is separate in the module. If I can find my spreadsheet with all the changes I've done I'll post what each one is labeled and what module it's in.

Here's the information for coding. The changes are done in the FRM module.

Change the bulb checks to NICHT_AKTIV
Change the LED bulb type to AKTIV

Right blinker LED coding:
FRA_VR_WARM_UEBERW_AKTIV - right blinker warm check
FRA_VR_KALT_UEBERW_AKTIV - right blinker cold check
FRA_VR_IS_LED - right blinker bulb type

Left blinker LED coding:
FRA_VL_WARM_UEBERW_AKTIV - left blinker warm check
FRA_VL_KALT_UEBERW_AKTIV - left blinker cold check
FRA_VL_IS_LED - left blinker bulb type

Did you order the Amazon ones? Those are crazy overpriced, eBay has the same ones for 20ish bucks if you buy them from China, or 50ish if you get them from the US.

One thing to watch out for is if at first they don't work, try flipping the connector around (it won't fit into the plug housing anymore, it's just to test) in the plug. For some reason a lot of them have their polarities reversed. ezaircon4jc and I just basically cut the wires and then spliced them into the opposite wires.

Ah.

I thought the tail lights were all LED bulbs? I might be wrong

They are, I was just ranting. I have a 2020 Tundra Platinum as well, and I hate that every damn bulb in that truck except the headlights are halogen. At least Ram got on the train as my previous 2019 Laramie has mostly LED.
