550xi soon to be....(maybe)
Hi guys, i've been following this forum for a year now and I appreciate all the feedback on most posts.
I am on the fence on pulling the trigger. I've never bought a luxury car like this before so please, any advice is much appreciated. I was presented with an opportunity to build now, and have it by first of Sept. 550ix 62,500 base 1,000 nappa 1,700 zcv 1,050 zcw 6,500 zmp 1,300 HUD 400 ipod 250 bmw apps 875 desintation ------- MSRP $75,575 your price $71,796 (less any rebates when available) How do I know if I am getting a good deal? What is considered a good deal? Edmunds has true market value at $71,064.00 This is a big purchase and I want to make sure I am not taken advantaged of. Thanks! |

go to truecar.com. excellent resource. this was one of the most important websites i checked before pulling the trigger on my 550i x-drive.
not sure where in kansas you're from, but if you put in lawrence kansas zipcode, you can see the average price paid for your car optioned out to 75575 as you have it. factory invoice is 70180 dealer cost is 68447 avg price paid in your zipcode is 71717 you can go from there and this will at least give you a good sense of whether you're getting a good deal or not. based on the above numbers, the deal you were quoted is not bad. check for the Drive for Team USA $1k coupon as well. hope this helps |

forgot to mention: you can probably get the dealer down from the price you quoted. if you can get to within $1K of the factory invoice, that's pretty good. and just my own 2 cents here . . . my purchase was also my first luxury car purchase and i definitely agonized. shop around and definitely get different dealerships to match and beat other offers. you will be amazed just how low you can get them to go. that being said, in the end, if you are able to get 2 CA's down to a similar price point, choose the person you like better because you will need to continue working with that person in the future. also, i would always just rather give my business to someone i liked more if it came down to just a few dollars. just my opinion
