HTC Sensation is compatible with F10 Office
For all those of you out there who are HTC fans and BMW fans, I thought I'd pass on the good news.
The new HTC Sensation supports Bluetooth Message Access profile and works with the F10 office function! I just tested this in a friend's F10 535d, it sees text messages and reads them out. My F10 doesn't arrive until 1st September - hope the time goes quickly...

HTC Sensation uses Android 2.3 so based on this we can say that Android 2.3 is supported(??).
I own a HTC Chacha but as Easyweasel delivery of my F10 is during September. Last edited by inny; 07-20-2011 at 07:45 AM.. |

Unfortunately Android 2.3 is not generally compatible. It turns out that what matters it support for the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP). As far as I can tell, the Sensation is the very first device from HTC to support this profile.

Not sure yet - there's a limit to the testing I can do in my friend's F10. I will report back on 1st September when I get my F10 and can find out exactly what office features are supported on the Sensation. The main thing for me was text messages because this solves a problem for me because I often receive texts on the move and using the F10 office feature I will be able to listen to them safely via my HTC sensation.

When I checked the Galaxy S2 it didn't seem to support Message Access Profile (MAP). Sensation definitely does on paper and also in practice in my tests yesterday.

mlai, to get bluetooth message access to work on your Samsung Galaxy SII there may well be some settings you need to adjust on the phone. On the HTC sensation, it didn't work until I went into "advanced settings" in the Bluetooth menu and turned MAP on. There could well be something similar on your Samsung - unfortunately I'm not familiar with these devices so I can't provide any more specific advice

For Calendar sync, on blackberry the magic ingredient appears to be an App called Bluetooth Calendar Sync. This is produced by a company called Avanquest. I've just sent some emails to some contacts on their website to ask if they produce (or are planning to produce) an Android version.

inny, this is exactly the same option I have on the Sensation. With this enabled, the Sensation works with the F10 I-drive office function. It therefore seems likely your ChaCha will also work. This makes sense, actually, because the Sensation and ChaCha both came out at almost exactly the same time

mobile office
hello, I bought a new F10 and it was delivered to me in late December of 2010. I have tried multiple phones including HTC thunderbolt, Droid Charge, and iphone 3G2 and none of them show a mobile office option. am I missing something? I have navigation and bmw assist activated with convenience package.
Also I haven't been able to figure out how to play a song through bluetooth audio. There are no options for that. Any help is appreciated. |

How did you get the text message to play in/through the car computer? Also, are you able to play music from the phone through Bluetooth in the car? I also have a HTC sensation and F10. I can connect it to the car through bluebooth to make phone calls, import contact, but nothing else (play music or play texts). would you please give me some advise. Thank you in advance. |

I have a sensation and an f10. It Works just great... Office functions only include contacts and SMS. Nothing more...
It even gets contact pictures for the contacts that include a picture. The picture needs to be in the contact and cannot be a picture from a Facebook linked contact. The only strange thing is that I get the contact pictures for the majority of my contacts except for 5 or 6 (out of 200 contacts with pictures) that I used the most. Any idea why? |
