M Badge On Fender
So I picked up the fender M badges you see on the Euro pics of the 5 Series M-Sports. I was thinking of placing them where they go as per the picture. But maybe they wouldn't look too bad in the center of the fender trim, which I had painted to match the car's color. I have a 2014, so as you know, that trim serves no purpose but to cover the old hole. What do you guys think? Sorry for the poor pic and reflection. The white part is the paper backing on the emblem.

I was thinking about putting a small black v8 badge in that trim. So I think it looks better there vs just out in the open.

Return the ///M badges, and stop adding badges that don't belong on the car. It's an msport, not an M5.

I guess we want what we don't have, I really dislike this new M badge that we now get.

Not my style but the fender badges do come on M-Sport models delivered in Europe.
It's not like BMW is trying to hide the "M" on the US models, there are at least 10 "M" logos on the US cars already: 4 on the wheels, 4 on the door sills, one on steering wheel and one on drivers footrest |

Badges are something that we Americans like and that is why the factories keep adding them here and there. I have eleven M logos on my car. Do I think 2 more make any difference? Really? Who cares! To OP: IMO don't ask anyone (especially us) what we think. If you like it, do it regardless of anyone else's opinion - it's your car and only you can determine what looks best on it. I think black wheels are horrible, lowering the car makes it look like a cheap Civic, modifying the suspension ruins the ride the factory and its engineers spent millions to perfect. The list goes on and on. The whole idea of pretending to be what it is not by adding an M5 badge or a Hybrid or a Supercharged: We are all big pretenders when we drive "The Ultimate Driving Machine" - look at me I own a BMW. If you want to pretend you have a more expensive ride by slapping an M5 badge on any BMW then more power to you. If you want to hide the expensive ride you have (Europeans) by deleting the M5 or the AMG badge, more power to you too. Do what you want and don't listen to anyone else |

Lol. I'm not trying to pretend I have an M5. Like someone mentioned, the badge is included on the Euro version of the 5 M-Sport. Just trying to do something with that area of the fender since the marker was eliminated so there's just a hole cover there and its kinda blah. OK asked and answered. Thanks for the feedback.

I wouldn't put an M badge on personally either. But it's not my car. If the guy likes it, so be it.
I too was thinking of ways to use / hide the side chrome piece. My thought was to paint or vinyl either black to match the trim and grilles... Or body color. Then I was CONSIDERING a small 'V8' badge...but ONLY if it's the right font and size and looks good. I like how the Audi has/had the 'V8' on the fender. Maybe it's the 'motorhead' in me..... Either way, I wasn't planning on ASKING anyone what they thought of it. Ultimately, it's only for me. Plus, my taste is better than 99% of everyone else anyway...

Easy solution, buy the standard car so that there is NO confusion with anything ///M... Or, you could debadge (but my guess is that 99,99% of M-Sport owners don't really want to do that, I know I wouldn't) It's just a small badge, doesn't make the car a M5 or anything else. BMW has added it in Europe so no big deal |

I agree. It's a stock badge in Europe just like the M5 spoiler is stock on Candian Msports. I'm not a big fan of badges in general but to say not to do it because it's not an M car is a pretty poor argument.

To each his own, but it just seems a bit weird to plaster M5 badges all over the car. You will end up on a poser thread on one of the many M5 boards.

It's not an M5 badge.
