Exhaust question
Folks,
quick one for you, as I have posted last week, I have placed an order for a BMW 528i xDrive with the M Sport appearance package. As I am ordering some parts, I was not able to get any exhaust for the N20 configuration. Since I want to have my car look to be as much as possible OEM looking, can I buy a 535 exhaust system and have it fir on my car ? My real question is do I need to worry about flow or an exhaust is an exhaust and since the 535i is using a turbo engine, I don't have to worry too much about exhaust temperature. Also I assume that I will be able to leverage the existing mounting point underneath the car to install that exhaust. My first plan was to order the dual side exhaust from Eisenmann, for the 2011 528i but no update as to if I can use this exhaust, at least the back end since I will most likely have to modify it in order to connect to the front part of the exhaust. Any help would be appreciated, I could allways go a a local exhaust shop and have one custom made but I rather have something from a known source like Eisenmann, Supersprint or even OEM. |

Hey, do not think there should be any problems installing 535i exhaust. But go for the new pipes with tails with M badges. costs € 253, or buy 535i BMW M Performance Exhaust 1.189 € € http://www.bmw.de/de/de/owners/acces....html?cat=1009 You may be able to mount the f20 BMW M Performance exhaust, also looks good. Bmw comes with a lot of new retrofit equipment now, so you may want to wait to see if there is something to the 528i.

Here in Canada we do not have access to these parts
So this is why I am trying to find an alternative or find a dealer in Europe who would send it to Canada. |

Looking at realoem.com, the two exhausts certainly are different. The 535 is a twin pipe from the cat back while the 528 is a single pipe. (these are the links for the xDrive versions).
However, both of them have one cat with a single outlet, so in theory, you could modify the exhaust a bit for it to fit. Here are the links: 528: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...00&hg=18&fg=10 535: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...50&hg=18&fg=10 |
