Due to the differences in base features between Canada and the US, it is easier to list the options I did not order: technology package (LED headlights, active blind spot detection, active protection, lane departure warning and HUD), adaptive drive, bang and olufsen (HK is standard in Canada), or night vision.

I scheduled this car for October production and November delivery. It is a big change from the 3s I have driven for the last 12 years (2001 325ci, 2004 330ci, 2007 335i convertible, 2011 335i xDrive M Sport) but I need something bigger and figured the 5 was the next logical step.

Ouch! It could be. BMWUSA is showing 55% RV for a MY13 550i (10K). The previous couple months had the MY14's a couple points lower....so 53% RV would make sense.

Hi all, Jean from Belgium here.
I hope that anyone will be able to help me out of my nightmare... I hava a question about the "Traffic Jam Assitant" or also called "Traffic Queue Assistant" in the "driving assistant plus" package. It's an option only to be launched in November of this year (at least that's what I read in Belgium and the Netherlands). Now, after having ordered my new 5 touring (code orange since now, which means it goes into production, my BMW retailer told me) I will not have this option on my car now, but ... will I ever be able to have it or not? Here are the three options of my question:

1) is it a software update (and thus available for everyone through a car software update)?

2) is it a hardware update, but in the form of an extra package, so also available for cars that don't have it now (if so it will sure be a paid option, but that's not my question)

OR...

3) Is it ... what I fear... something that is only available for cars ordered after October of this year?

Thanks so much for helping me out on this. My dealer doesn't know. BMW Belgium doesn't know, apart from telling me that "I am not the only one asking about it".

Now before anyone would answer that I might look elsewhere: I have searched the internet toroughly and I have read some questions or postings about it, but no offical statement. Even today I read something about it. I'm sorry not to be able to find the posting again, but they mentioned that it was some kind of a hardware package, (option 2 in my question). On the other hand I read somewhere else that this was not the case... so ... please ... help me stop this searching... I will have my new baby in a month now... Placed my order yesterday for a 535d xDrive... decided to go with the diesel as the mpg numbers look pretty good for not too much of an impact in performance -- and with diesel prices about the same as super unleaded in NY, hoping for a nice reduction in my monthly fuel charges!

Its a 518d auto msport (i know i know sheep in wolfs clothing etc) but its a company car so need low co2 and i preferred extra cash to spend on the few options i could squeeze on our scheme rather than the extra little bit of torque.
