I did euro pick up in Oct and have had my 2011 535 in California for one week. I love this car but it grinds when I turn and tends toward the right. I am taking it in tomorrow but there seems to be no fix. If they don't remedy this I won't rest until they get me the car that some if you describe.

Angry 2011 550i Seriously Flawed Car

I'm afraid your in for more trouble. I took European delivery on my 2011 550i in September and have had a front end suspension rattle they can't explain nor fix. The dealer told me they even conferenced with Germany on the problem earlier this week. Today I started litigation under the Massachusetts Lemon Law for new cars. This is totally unacceptable.

I am sorry to hear it. I haven't heard of that problem but the one I be reported seems more common. I'm sure you will prevail. Is bmw refusing to replace the car?

I have M Sport suspension and my steering is perfect. Yes it is lighter than my old e90 but after 4 weeks totally used to it.

Is anybody NOT having steering issues?

I bought a late 2010 525d (RHD) with the wobbly steering. You can turn the wheel easily an inch either way from straight ahead with no effect on direction.

After my previous model 730d (fantastic car) I became a BMW convert, but now I won't buy another. Took it in after 4 weeks to have the steering checked as I couldn't pass a truck safely and motorway crosswinds pushed me into the next lane.

My (BMW main Barons) dealer gave the Arthur Daley speech "they all do that Sir, we couldn't find a fault" which means "it's too expensive for us to fix, we'd rather you suffered with it".

Well I hate the car now, and my wife (not a great driver) just won't use it. So this is my last beemer...because they just don't care.

BMW=Joy? no way....my car is a £40k lemon!

Only issue as such with mine is that it wants to drift left. Otehr than that fine (although its not as good as my old e39 but thats another old debate!)

Certianly do get used to it.

If I had a BMW like that I'd be on their backs... have you tried a different dealer for a second opinion?

I know the F10/11 have some steering issues, can have different sensitivities mid position, but an inch each way and nothing?

Easily an inch both ways....
Drove the car like that for four weeks?
Bring it back where it came from and get it fixed.
Or stop hitting the bottle.

That is one of the big issues which needs to sorted, and it is not an alignment which needs to be done, of course the car should drive straight, don't you think?

This is definitely not right and if your dealer is telling you there's no fault, you should take it elsewhere and write, in a calm and measured tone, to BMW UK.
Certainly there are issues concerning lack of feedback with the wheel in the straight ahead position, but it responds instantly to the slightest input and there is no play whatsoever.
This has been previously discussed very extensively on the forum and doing a search will provide you with a lot of information on the subject.
