Does the frequency alter with engine RPM? It might be a slightly distorted pulley rubbing against a drive belt.

Could be a belt that can be adjusted. Does it go away or always there?

I dont have a computer with me and I don't think I can post vids from my iphone..it does sound like something is rubbing it almost sounds like a dog barking but at very low pitch..I jus don't want anything to go wrong with the engine in the long run cause I plan on keeping the car for a while..and it goes away then comes back happens more often when the engine warms up especially after a drive

My last 2011 X5 35i made the squeaky noise, same as you described (squeak squeak squeak... squeak squeak). It thought I had a bad idler pulley or something like that. Turns out, it was a defective rear main seal. Long story short, I gave the '11 X5 back to the dealer (with minor financial impact) and got the 2012 SAV model instead.

A squeak and a very low dog barking sound are pretty different sounds in my world... Audio would help alot.

update:so I had my cousin which is a mechanic look under the hood while my engine was running and the squeak was happening..he said the pulley which pulls the belt around the alternator was loose..you can visually see that the bottom pulley had a slight wobble to it! can't wait to send it to the dealer to get it fixed

Keep us posted. I thought my X5 had a bad pulley as well.
