F10 5-series interior (fully uncovered) photos (10/26)

As reported on 5post homepage.

Nearly fully uncovered F10 5-series interior spied during testing in China.

The screen looks like the standard screen. The professional navigation will likely get the the F01 7-serie's larg screen.

BMW really needs to shift more attention to their interiors. We're getting owned by audi in the interior zone :P

Hm, I sort of agree, though the Audis might look a bit too techy sometimes (R8/10).

Expect a lot of the tech in the F01 to be in the F10 just in slightly different packaging/different software levels-economies of scale at work... this will eliminate the need for many different systems.

They just can't find a permanent spot for the iDrive knob. Can't they?

Overall design looks great. I like it.

Some pre-production parts used here, e.g., black rear-centre console with beige - not normal. Trust the real thing will be even better.

Hate Audi's, too much look at me "bling" ... tacky. I want the money spend where it matters on base engineering.

Glad to see that they're adding some curves to the dash again.

Seems they removed the Driving Dynamics control (the ones that in the GT and 7series put the settings as Normal or Sporty, placed on the left of the gearbox stick)

Armrests are lower than in the 5GT too

Looks like there is a trim cover piece, when you press it the cup holder assembly rotates ~90° into place.

BMW [over] engineering strikes again.

I'm still worried about the gone (?) settings selector. That was one of the main features I was looking for in this car, and assumed that if the Gt had it, this would too.

Anyone knows if it will have it, and if so, where is the controller placed?
Or will it be an optional?

EDIT: I have checked and on other F10 the controller is there, just like in the GT. Wonder if its not offered in CHina (or only as an option there) and as standard in EU and US market?...

Fingers crossed that it is as standard :S

Am I the only one a little underwhelmed by the interior shots?

Not sure what you mean... this is the norm now and has been on all models since the X6.

The 7 and 5 GT have driver oriented dashes as does the Z4.

China is a different market, there are different trims around the world. Do not take this layout as the end all- there are some other variations, everything will be released in about a month...

Also, do not compare the 5 GT to the 5 as they are not on the same platform , the GT is more of a 7 than a 5.

BTW I dunno if anyone has noticed this, But the rear seat area picture that was taken was most likely the 5-series Li model that is available in China. Notice how much space is in between the rear center Console Air vents and the rear bench seat......Since these pics were taken in China it is VERY possible we are looking at an Li model.

Good to see the console more driver oriented again rather then having the best view be in the middle of the back seat.
