2010 2011 BMW 5 Series Forum F10 Why are Xenons so expensive. |

Other than the cost of extra goodies such as the washers and mechanism to move the headlights, xenon lights require a high voltage power supply and ballast which probably costs more than the bulbs.

Standard on 12's
I believe that they are now standard on the new 2012s

The light off the Philips Xtreme Power is significantly brighter than the OEMs with a much better spread. It's like having fogs on as well as really good dips.

I have them standard and I rarely turn them on as I live in urban area and streets are so well lit, plus the light from the xenon is too bright for the on coming traffic. If I can go cheap, I would ditch it. I just drive around with angel eyes and fog lamps.
