But do you think the supplies is enough? And that's why I'm buying it. Basically free supplies!

I am not a fan of the Lil Chizzler. When I used one in the past, the edge scratched 3M vinyl. Wrapping it in an old t shirt worked.

I'll just remove it from my cart. Anything I should add or remove? Or get more off?

Awesome! What's your plan of attack? My rear mtech bumper came primered. I wonder if the vinyl will stick to it or does it need to be painted? Same thing when I pick up the side skirts... they'll be primered too?

Plan of attack?
Also I think it'll work. I've seen some videos of people wrapping unpainted parts like bumpers. It should be fine. Buy a sample and test it out

I was talking to a professional wrapper and he HIGHLY (like pushing me) to pay for The Wrap Institute and watch all their videos before I start wrapping. Does anyone know if that's really necessary? I'm just a college student and I don't have $99 to throw for the videos. Youtube is free lol

You guys ever hear of plastidip ? I've had my previous car wrapped in flat white and it was a pain in the ass to keep clean. It was my daily driver so I had to clean it everyday or else the dirt would be a b!tch to remove.

My buddy recently plastidipped his VW white and the plastidip texture is much easier to clean and dirt doesn't cling to it as much. It's also less expensive and much easier to do. Lasts longer and it's harder for edges to start peeling off if you put enough coats

Yup! I've seen a lot of those YouTube videos dipyourcar.com. was it because of the material you used causing you those issues?

I used 3m matte white vinyl. Best material you can use, but the color just gets dirty too quick and every dirt spec shows. Vinyl in general is harder to clean than plastidip. My friends plastidipped car, you can clean the dirt off his car with the swipe your finger, but with vinyl you gotta scrub it so to speak . Here's the car. Sick color, but vinyl imp is just too hard to maintain if your cars a daily.

Oh lol, I honestly never heard of that phrase before. But I plan to start wrapping the car around December 25th. I'll have time to do it within a two to three days. I intend to utilize the 3 car garage those days so I'm going to remove all the cars and park the BMW sideways in it (going to be doing a 20 point maybe 10 point turn lol). I think I'm going to do the flat parts of the car first so in this order hood, trunk, roof, doors, quarter panels, side mirrors, then bumpers. I just realized I want to wrap the roof black but it's too late to go buy more film so I'm just going to wrap it all blue.

I was considering to do plastidip because of the price and simple use. But I realize why would I want to paint instead my garage for this. It'll be a mess and overspray all over the garage and the fact that there's not the best ventilation in there too. Luckily the vinyl blue is somewhat dark depending on the shade/shine. I'm hoping it won't be too bad.

Sounds like a good plan! Can't wait to see the results. I sat and looked at the car the other day and the part I think that's going to waste a lot of material is the roof liner to the back quarter panel. It's one big piece. I know what's going to happen...your's is going to turn out awesome and than I'll want to do mine lol

I'll like to admit defeat. After 12 hours the past few days with the help from my dad. The vinyl wrap project has been canceled. Videos on YouTube and things online give it no help. It's much more difficult to do that you think. I hate giving up and I always try not to but after multiple attempts, I can not waste any more time and materials. :

Oh wow! What happened? That's a lot of money you spent on materials! What problems did you run in to?

Well we did the hood and my father and I came across multiple problems. Many of the times we would get wrinkles and found out later that it is due to how we are squeegee-ing. Another big issue we had was corners, we would get to a corner (roof and hood), and there would be too much vinyl that we would get a "Giant wrinkle" because of the extra vinyl that ended there. It wasn't easy at all. I feel ashamed for even thinking about this project but luckily both my parents understand the difficulty of it and were happy that I tried. Honestly, all the hours of videos I've watched before starting was not enough.

No ashamed in trying something yourself! It helps others out that this task isn't as easy as we thought it was. I think there's a technique to it

Wrapped my interior trim and mirror caps and there was definitely a learning curve. I couldn't imagine trying to wrap my entire car. You should be proud of yourself for trying. Have a pro do it for you since you already have the material.
