BMS S2 N63 TMAP Codes

Hi All,

Just curious if anyone sees this occurring with their BMS S2 on N63.

I'm trying to diagnose issues with power loss on the top end and noticed these codes. They've come back a few times after clearing them. I haven't gotten a chance to datalog yet so I'm not looking for help with the power loss yet just wondering if these are normal to see.

Thanks!

Yes it's a common issue with stage 2, while terry claims is the TMAP* censors, ive changed to new TMAP* and issue would come back.
When you have stage 2 be prepared to clear codes on regular basis a piggy back is a piggy back.

What settings do you have in JB4 ?

That is a tuning setting you can adjust. You'd want to post on the n54tech support forum for more detailed advice.

I run aggressive, 3.5. I get those codes routinely and a check engine light. I can clear the codes and CEL with my BT cable, or the CEL goes away on it's own after about 50 miles.

These engines are finicky to say the least, it could be any number of issues causing what you describe as a power loss. Is the power loss from a dyno run or just seat time?

I have the basic settings still, 3 and 2 I believe. Used to have those drivetrain malfunctions at certain speeds, replacing the MAFs luckily did help me and it hasn't happened since.

Thanks, posted it there last night, apparently this codes are normal so it's time to diagnose my other issues. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just butt dyno, I can feel it in higher gears when I do a pull. It feels like the car pulls timing for a second and the acceleration drops off then it comes back in hard. But it has been doing it more frequently lately and sometimes twice between one shift. I just need to figure out how to get a good datalog before I start looking into this.

Thanks, already did!

Does anyone have suggestions on how to datalog besides using a BT cable?

I saw this but I can't tell for sure if it will work for our cars:

It seems like our ECU is supported but I wouldn't doubt if it had issues on the F10 chassis w/ N63. I'll give it a shot but if anyone else has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all!

if you havent had the MAF sensors replaced, I would do that first, I had my Stage 1 on 2.5 and after about 120mph id get Drivetrain Malfunction messages, Of course I took it off and took it to the dealer and they replaced both sensors and hadnt had that issue since then.
Now I run JB4 Stage 2 but as Stage 1 on 3 and runs pretty good not a single error.

Both MAF sensors are new. I had the MAF issues before which would cause the drivetrain malfunctions and the MAF codes, but now I was just seeing these codes, no drivetrain malfunctions at all. The car doesn't throw any codes, just noticed it acting weird and saw these in the fault memory.

According to BMS they are normal though, so I have to look elsewhere!
