Any new LCI updates?

patiently waiting for for '14 model. was about to pull the trigger on a 535 in november but read the potential updates for LCI and decided to wait. I truly hope the steering change is real. Some new colors would be nice as well.

Anyone know or heard of any new info for the LCI? Jason?

I am very curious about this also. My M3 lease is up in May and I will extend it until the LCI is available but only if steering/handling issues are addressed. It looks like the only things that are certain at this point is the power bump and minor styling tweaks. I would think it would be revealed at one of the upcoming auto shows.

IS the steering REALLY that bad on the 535i? i am considering this or a 335i order.

I've driven them over the years, but i can't recall the 535i being a bad handling car. Please let me know if you are referring to the electronic steering or if its more of a chassis issue..

Speaking for myself, nothing really wrong with the 535i steering or handling with my M-sport and Adaptive Drive. Depends what you really want from a BMW that is clearly aimed at the luxury segment, with a hint of sportiness. OK, maybe the 5-series is softened a bit, but for many that is a good thing and couldn't have come quickly enough.

I can't see any radical changes taking place, probably just tweaks to the steering and suspension setup, like we normally get with LCI revisions.

There is nothing wrong with the 535i steering. I've driven a ton of cars and it is still amongst my favorite to drive. In fact, I travel frequently for business and every week when I get in my car at the airport garage, I realize just how great it is compared to whatever rental I've been driving.

I also agree there isn't any problem with my 2011 535i 6MT When i go to my in-laws in the north GA mountains I get to let her loose. I don't have M-sport or sport pkg. hardly any body roll, perhaps a little springy over a hump, but grips great around twisty windy roads in the Georgia mountains even better now that I'm runing JB4

Considering that the F10 was the number one selling mid size luxury sport sedan worldwide in 2012, I dont see BMW tweaking the steering too much.

The steering's lack of feel is a common complaint amongst professional reviewers. Most give the edge to the Audi A6 which traditionally has been the one with numb steering. For those looking for something more sporty in a midsize car BMW doesn't offer anything like the S6 except the M5. I would get the M5 but now need AWD. Would like to get a 550i Xdrive M Sport but want it to really feel like an M.

I test drove the A6 back 2 back with the 535 and I was very surprised and some what depressed to find myself enjoying the sporty nature of the A6 far more than the 535. Sadly my persian-ness won't allow me to buy something other than bmw. plus the a6 is not as nice looking as the f10 with m-sport

the steering isn't bad. there's a loss of connected feel to the road when comparing hydraulic vs the electric steering on the f10. not sure how much you can change that but the on center feel needs to be a little tighter. it's all relative. After I get out of my X3 and into my e90 i feel like the e90 is too firm.

Ultimately a little more firm particularly if you're in sport or sport+ wouldn't hurt.

Some sites state 2014, some 2015. But IMO, i highly doubt they will be testing minor front and rear fascia changes NOW, for MY 2015. Just hope they testing was also with the N63tu. The LCI prototype has been photographed since October 2012. I think the LCI will be for MY2014
