Navigation System Pro

Hi Everyone,

Pardon the question but I am probably putting down a deposit for a 523 this weekend and wanted to seek your thoughts on the merits of going for a Navigation System Professional as opposed to going for an aftermarket unit.

The 85% tax on top of a HKD30k option is making me think twice! Don't suppose this is an option which can be retrofitted?

Thanks very much.

I didn't go for the pronav as the price really didn't justify my possible usage. The screen certainly looks very nice especially compared to the small standard unit and is much nicer than a aftermarket unit that u stick on the windshield w all that wiring. Howevr we live in such a small place and 90percent of the time I tend to go to the same places I just wouldn't be able to use it much. Different if I lived in na or Europe.

i would either get the oem navi pro or use my iphone gps. i don't like sticking a aftermarket gps in our nicely designed interior cabin.

I didn't go for the Nav Pro either. With all the mobile devices capable of GPS for a minimal amount, why paying HKD60K (mine's 100% tax) for a larger mon?

Besides, it doesn't really add resell value to your car anyway. And BMW charges you for updating maps after the 1st year. I think another HKD1K+ each year, for a big 2 updates a year.......

PS. For an additional HKD9K, I can have the Samsung C9000 55" LED 3D TV in my living room....... I guess I can live with a 7" mon when I am driving

Thanks very much for everyone's thoughts. Because of the gorgeous screen that comes with nav pro, I needed to hear the same message at least 50 times before crossing it off the list of must-have options....if you see a nav-less 523 in basic colours (hmmmm maybe I can go metallic now with the savings!) please don't run it off the road

Nah. Waiting for an ideal amplifier which support HDMI 1.4 first.....

nav pro for 60k is undisputedly the worst option .. unless your preference for 10" screen over 7" screen is worth 11% of the base of your car

ANYTHING else is better
get adaptive drive, IAS, or go for the 528...
u know u can get really nice GPS navs for 1k ..the 6inch ones fit perfectly on the side of the oe 7"screen, it can look quite pro, like wide screen array

sorry for shouting at you, but what do you expect ? maybe your wife /gf is not doing it enough

oh good, i see u have been dissuaded .. welcome to the club

Don't get the Navi pro option.

Is that clear?
