Cool use for side cameras!

I just discovered that you can use your front side cameras to help you park. The yellow lines should not touch the curb or that means the front of your car could hit the curb.

Personally I've never used my side view cameras for parking, use them for blind forward manoeuvres, out of blind entrances and parking spots. Must experiment with how they may help parking.

Use the top view cameras for precision parking, and reverse camera guide lines for reverse parallel parking. Get the reverse guide lines just off the kerb and you place the car about 6" away.

Yes, that's what I have been doing for years.

But, top view doesn't come close to using the side view for precision parking.

Please, promise you will try using side views for parking just once:

It's amazing! Just move your car forward until the yellow lines are close to the curb---the same way in my photo!

Then, get out and look at the front of your car. You will be 1" away from the curb-that's precision!

Well, I ain't the sharpest knife...after 3 vehicles with side cameras, I just now figured out how to use them to park close to the front of the car!

LOL...I have to press the buttons to make my driver's side mirror to point down as I back up to prevent curb rashing my rims!

Here's how i use it.

Top camera: Parallel parking and precision parking in the parking lot

Rear camera: Back up parking in a short spot to get as close to the wall as possible

Side cameras: To creep up to a turn if there's obstacles in my POV to see oncoming traffic.

I've thought about using the side cameras for parking and tried it. However, top view is just easier and better. I also don't need it for parking as I can just look out the window or align your car with another car that's parked right and just adjust spacing.

Tried this last night ... definitely works. I was using top view to avoid high curbs at the front, but the warning message that displays blocks the view for a few seconds. This seems more accurate.

Will the reverse guide lines still be accurate if I change my rims to a more aggressive offset? Thanks!

I guess you'll have rubbing issues on the fenders before the accuracy of the guide lines becomes an issue.
