Fix For Pulling To Right
just wanted to make it easy for anyone having this issue..
since day one i had my 2013 535 i had the pulling to the right... thought this would be solved for the 2013 models but guess not.. after multiple trip to dealer replacing rims, tires, wheel alignments and arguments dealer finally solved the issue. i had done research on the forum for solutions and brought to dealer but the kept insisting it what was only a wheel alignment. they attempted 2 times and then actually asked to to pay for a 3rd and after arguments back and forth they fond the issues. so long story short here is solution (well worked for my case) for the problem. i hated to drive the car because of this pull but now car feels like new again what a relief! so what they did is the service manager said the right upper control arm was not on the right angle. even thought the computers said it was all in spec. it was uneven so they had to replace it the work form is below for you to look at.. so happy it is finally fixed and wanted to share with everyone to maybe help someone else out ! enjoy! I brought my 2011 535i in today for the pulling to right issue. I have had this issue from the beginning. But it was very minor and didn't bother me much until recently. I felt it's getting worse. Dealer technician told me that it was a known issue and BMW field engineer would help fix this problem. He mentioned steering rack and some springs that might need to be replaced. Hope they will fix this problem for me once and for all. It might take a few days.
A question. The technician also mentioned that software would also need to be updated. I don't know what software he was talking about. Does the tip-in issue (which BMW thinks is normal) will be improved from the software update? Is it the same software? I really hope so. |

I've asked about this to my service rep. Apparently, this is a safety feature to align the cars to steer slightly to the right. In case the driver falls asleep, he/she will veer to the right ever so slightly.

Harsh truths: Whoever tells a customer this deserves to either be fired or promoted and whoever believes this deserves a car that pulls to the right, especially after noticing and questioning same. |

I finally got my 2011 535i back from dealer after 25 days. The pulling to right issue is eliminated as of now. According to the work order, the main reason for pulling to right is because the struts were mis aligned.
The whole vehicle's control units were all reprogrammed, as part of the fix. Tip-in throttle delay is gone too. Acceleration from standstill is smoother. Braking is smoother and more linear and also SOFTER. Steering is lighter, which is not what I wanted. Overall, I like the car better than before. It's amazing how programming can make the car feel so much different. Hopefully, the throttle delay and pulling to right issues will not come back later. |

528I drifting right...
My 2013 528I had same issue right after purchase. I was told the same stupid reason "so if you fall asleep at the wheel you wont go into on coming traffic". First fix was an electronic alignment. That didn't fix it. Then next fix was to replace the right steering arm. That fixed it!
Called BMW of USA and filed a complaint and was offered $4000. for all my hassles. |

I had the same issue with the OP after my first tire change. The dealership ended up changing two upper bush arms (or something like that) and that did the trick.

Mine is doing the same thing. Much more noticeable after the H&R drop. I looked up that part number and there are 2 versions of the upper a-arm. +30min and -30min. see the link #16 (http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/s...ssembly=422105)
they installed the -30min on yours. You would think it would be +30min to decrease negative camber? or is it -30min shorter arms so that would pull the top of the wheels closer to the body and add positive camber? anyone with experience with this? AJ
