2011 535i bucking feeling
So I installed my JB4 the other night and it's made my bucking more noticeable
If I try to rev out the car it feels like it doesn't want to be revved and just bucks in a sense No CEL this was there before JB4 but now more noticeable ... Map 1 I haven't changed plugs yet but any idea what it could be? |

Possibly one or more of the ignition coils? I had initially experienced vibration on my car at highway speeds, then engine misfire on heavy throttle. Turns out one ignition coil was bad at 75k km.

izaazk Any updates on your bucking? I feel like I have something similar and the JB4 and SB has made it more noticeable. I have changed the plugs and no difference. I might have to buy a single coil and go through the rounds and see if replacing any of them helps.
I have a manual so I thought it was me getting used to the clutch and gas since this car is new to me. But I can tell that my gas pedal is consistent when the bucking/stuttering happens. |

If you have problems with a tune after plugs tap them down to .22
This helps prevent spark blow out due to running higher than stock boost. If it persists clean you MAF and MAP sensor. If that doesn't resolve your problem then invest into ignition coils. If all that doesn't resolve your problem then look at hpfp and injectors. If all fails then just get the F80 M3

The injector removal tool is available on ebay for about 30 bucks from china.. Not a hard diy, pretty straight forward. But i haven't seen many injector failures on the N55..

Are you getting bad MPG? O2 sensors can start going bad without throwing codes and the outcome is poor performance, loss of MPG, rough idle and in worse cases misfires. 1 misfire and then you'll get codes

Reported with the computer @ ~25MPG. I haven't manually logged it yet though.

I have an n63 and was getting the stuttering/bucking and it got worse, the car started throwing the dreaded Drivetrain Malfunction error and the engine would start running rough. The reason is that the DME will turn off a cylinder that is not performing at the same level and so that threw the whole thing off balance by running only 7 cylinders. Anyways, after two trips to the dealer and replacing coils and injector on the suspected cylinder, they nailed it down to one particular spark plug. They had tried swapping it to a different cylinder first and it worked on that cylinder so they swapped it back. But once they replaced the cool, the stuttering got worse. Once the spark plug was replaced, I'm not getting the stuttering/bucking or drivetrain malfunctions and I've tried to push the car too. So my recommendation would be spark plugs first.
