BMW didnt create this car to be a smaller version of the 335, if they had, they wouldnt have put such massive brakes and made the car so performance oriented, whereas the 335i is more luxury oriented.

I hate when people compare the 135 and 335, they arent the same.

also, I remember somewhere that the MT transmission in the 335i can only support a maximum of 400HP, while the AT was rated for much more.

I have the AT; no regrets.

my coworker just got his last night. he said he can't stop smiling ever since he first sat in it. he said it's a lot more nimble and handles better than the 335i. i'm not going to believe that until i drive a 1er though.

Looks great, i like the 1 series. But how come ur is 135i and it doesn't have a double exhause in the middle like the 335?

Or is it always on the left...unlike the 3 series..

I find that hard to believe

from all the reviews I've seen, the 135i's suspension is tuned towards comfort rather than performance

also, watch the latest best motoring where they compare the 350z, m3, 135i and s2000. the 135i does poorly on the slalom - the body almost touches the ground!!

ahhhh my mistake (still have lots to learn)

but I know that the shifting speed of the auto (0.1s) is a lot faster than what you can reasonably do with the manual. also, the fact that it holds boost is true.

what non-M BMW has a suspension tuned towards performance? answer: none.

what non-M BMW doesn't understeer? answer: none.

I'm not saying the 335i suspension is pure performance

but in comparison, the 135i is more comfort-oriented

watch Best Motoring and see what I'm talking about

and yeah, they both understeer, but there are different degrees and severities

not everything is black/white

btw, I'm not 100% sure whether the 135i had the M sport package or not

that could have been the reason for the huge body roll

m-packages come standard in 135s. that includes sport-tuned suspension.
