Earlier service with new firmware
Hi
I just had my 520D in to upgrade the firmware. The car is now 11 months old and has 23k km on it. The service interval is 30k km or 2 years. I know the car has a need-orientated service, but my question is this... When I delivered the car in the morning it said service due in 7000 km or 13 months. When I picked it up it said service due in 2000 km or 13 months. The dealer had no good explanation. Does anyone know if the latest firmware has stricter limits for when it feels like getting new oil or something like that? |

Well, BMW did shorten its condition-based service intervals earlier this year, but it was my understanding that it is prospective only and not applicable to cars manufactured before the change.

And it's not worldwide either. My brand new lci F11 520xdT still has 30.000 km or 2 years service interval just as before. Someone told me that the shortened intervals are for the US only.
