Quad conversion on a 2012 F11 530d M-Sport
Hi all,
I'm planning to convert my F11 530d Msport to quad tailpipes in the next 2 weeks. Firstly to reassure you, I won't be fitting any M5 badges to the car! The purpose of this post is to seek the collective wisdom of the group; I have a reasonably clear picture of what I want and don't want to achieve... I've seen some dreadful conversions with wonky tips. Can you have a look at the attached pics and spec list below and come back with any comments or suggestions please? If you feel the need to flame me then that's also OK... I know some may think why the f*ck would I spend this money just to make my F11 look better! Why bother? I’ve always wanted an M5 Estate; I just love the aesthetics of the exhaust set up; to be honest, the reason for my conversion is cosmetic and I’m not really interested in a £4,000 titanium exhaust for performance reasons! The car is a 2012 BMW F11 Touring – 530d M-sport. - Dark Grey. This is my spec list • Quad tail pipes – both sides need to be connected and working (not a dummy bolt on tip on the RHS). • Black tips on them, like the BMW OE exhaust currently fitted (see attached pic) • Diameter of the tail pipe not to exceed OEM sizing. I do not want large "boy racer" conical stainless exhaust pipes... just something that looks OEM. • Also, on the tips, I’d like them to be 5”+ long and not really short or splitting 2” from the end, as this looks a bit cheap • I’d like the tail pipes to be staggered, so they follow the natural curve of the car • Will go for a carbon Vorsteiner replica diffuser. Any suggestions for a good UK (North) garage and supplier would be great. Other comments and potential flaming also invited, Cheers, Andy. My OEM exhaust A crappy conversion This is perfect Is this wonky? Love this Schnitzer tips... views? |

The real question is WTH is a WONKY tip?!
From what I see seems like the only thing you need to do is upgrade to the Vorsteiner diffuser and than decide how much do you want to spend for an exhaust? Either Eisemann or some SuperSprints

Here's the Eisemann for your model 530d
Here's the SuperSprints but it's the only one listed for your model. You can always have the tips painted black. Those AC tips look like the 550's and most guys that I've seen here change them out for 3.5" quads. If that's the design you like you might want to opt buying someone's stock 550 exhaust and have a muffler shop custom fit it to yours? If anything go to a muffler shop and have a couple of Borlas installed with whatever tips you want and call it a day!
