Primacy 3 tyres lasted 28k miles. Wear on outside
Car M.O.T'd yesterday. I knew the tyres were getting close to being replaced. The M.O.T. picked up and stated there was 5mm tread in the middle with 2 and 3 mm on the edges of the front tyres.
Suggests to me the tyre pressures were perhaps on the low side wit the sidewalls taking most of the strain? Pressures were also 2.3 bar for the first few years followed by 2.4bar for the last couple. having said all that, 28K miles isn't too bad. |

Don't you suffer some tramlining in your car? That also can be an indicator of low working pressures. |

Mine are on the same tyres and I think 28k is good. I think with the correct tyres pressures it could've been stretched to about 36k. And that's maximum before they are worn out.
They are in my view very competent all round tyres, Wear Price Sound noise Wet grip I will be replacing again with the same. I've used on other bmws Bridgestone, good year Michelin, continental and found michelins used the BMW characteristics well esp the f10. HighlandPete I have 19's What pressures do you recommend. I normally travel alone. Front and back pressures I have always struggled with. Many thanks Regards Sp

remember the discussions from probably getting on for 2 years back and have ever since run 2.4 bar all round. (the sticker on the car recommends 2.3 for 1 person in the car) I can only summise that the air pump I am using may be under reading a tad causing more wear on the sides rather than evenly across) |

I am running 36psi front and back. Should the back always have a little more than the front? And am I running any danger by running the same pressures all round? Thanks

My tyres are on the BMW recommended 29 front and 32 back. Judging from this thread, looks like I should put it to 36 all round.
Agree with Michelin Primacy 3, on my previous Accord, I got 36000 miles and they still had 3-4 mm at the point of sale. |
