Tyre pressures
Hi All
I'm curious to know what you guys are all running your tyre pressures at I swapped back to summer tyres today and topped up the pressure as per the door sticker 2.3 bar for fronts and 2.5 bar for rears, does that sound a little high? I have stock 225/55/17 non rft and it's a 520d Thanks |

Hi
Yup, bog standard 97 They're Goodyear excellence * rated, It's only ever really myself in the car commuting to and from work on the motorway and a roads, occasionally I'll have a cpl extra people with me (once a month) Pressures just seem a little high compared to the 33psi all round i used to have in my golf |

I had a 5 series (F10) for two years/25k miles and, like you, it was mostly just me or with one passenger. I always kept the pressures just abve the minimum door sticker value and the tyre wear was consistently even across the tread, so you can trust the figures.

Like Jon, I run my pressures a little higher than the door placard, even for low loads, to balance out wear.
I'm running 17" winter wheels on my 535i touring. Pressure set at 2.45 bar front and 2.65 bar rear, (to ensure I'm running a minimum of 35 & 38 psi). |

Thanks for the reassurance guys/girls
Was great on my drive from bham to Oxford and back today, now i need to find out where that vibration which runs through the entire car is coming from... Probably due a check/change of bushes at the 72k I've done maybe |

the vibration was there from before (last year had a flat on the motorway, all four changed at Sytner - they checked all the tyres for roundness etc also - all ok apparently)
vibration was there with the previous set, with the summer bridgestones and with the winter pirellis passenger seat vibrates, floor pan has a high frequency vibration and can be felt in the door and steering wheel also. it's booked in again at Sytner on thursday to have this looked at for the 3rd time - was assured they will fix it - i mentioned the various things i'd read about i.e. propshaft bushing, shock absorbers (apparently there was an uprated one at some point?), other misc bushes etc should be interesting to see what they come back with |
