That could indeed be very interesting, but I suspect this time Maldonado will be act like nun at the start.

Funny strategy by Ferarri. Did they get too cute and think they could place their drivers 1, 2by having them work together or did they know Alonso's car had an issue and use him just to try and get one Ferrari on pole at Monza? It's hard to imagine Massa has even the slightest chance of winning - maybe he has a chance at 3rd.

Good qualy, great lap from Hamilton.

A lot of smoke and mirrors from Ferrari over Alonso. Luca di Montezemolo's rage was funny.

Shame Alonso had a problem in Q3.

Also surprising to see both Red Bulls running so slow.

Incredible run from Perez. Looks like Massa's tires were on their last leg. Red Bull just had no luck today.

Ferrari has their hand SO far up the Stewards ass, they respond like their puppet. A drive through penalty for SV? Horse-shit favoritism - seeing a lot of that lately. I guess the point is moot because RBR can't even get his car to the end w/o some mechanical issue or another. Go Perez, Go MSC.

The penalty was absolutely deserved, the problem is whether ferrari would get the penalty with roles reversed.

And seeing a lot of that LATELY? So you just started watching F1 then? Haha.

Yeah, too true. I mean it's gotten BLATANT as of late. Hell, Alonso pushed DiResta off the track at Curva Grande on the 1st lap.

Good job by Hamilton controlling the race. Probably the 2nd easiest win of the season to Button's last week. Regarding power of influence between Vettel and Alonso is tough, but I'm sure being in Monza was probably the deciding factor. Great drive from Perez, good start from Massa even though he rolled over once he started hearing "Alonso" on his team radio. Vettel did the best with what he had, but it just gave out on him. Rocky's voice over the radio when he shut it off was very concerned/panicked sounding to me.

Slightly off topic: Has anyone ever noticed when they pull out the 'generic' Santander S trophies? Last year Vettel won a pretty intricate Monza trophy, and this year Hamilton got the generic set of hardware. I wonder what goes into the trophy selection and if the real trophy is still awarded just not displayed publicly...

Vettel's 2011:

Hamilton's 2012:

Good race. Great drive by the top 3.

Anyone see Hamilton point to the red on his helmet after the race? What was that about?

Funny how it's basically the 2011 situation between Alonso and Vettel but reversed.

You need to remember though that the rules changed from last year and you have to allow at least a full car width now, which is why Vettel got penalized.

Great drive by Hamilton, always good to see McLaren win. Terrible weekend for Red Bull.

Also what's real exciting is how the championship is tightening up now, 179 points for Alonso, 142 points for Hamilton, 141 for Kimi, and 140 for Vettel.

did MW also have an alternator problem? thought he retired cause his tires were shot after spinning out and since he was out of the points, he just retired to save engine life

you are right the rules are diff this year but they showed on Sky, the 2011 pass and the 2012 pass, Alonso gave SV plenty of room last year, even though there was no rule to give room. And this year SV completely force Alonso out, so I was happy to see him get a penalty

Great race by Lewis, too bad for Button, he was running strong. Amazing job by Perez too
