I want a new M4 pretty bad That would be a tough choice between that and an M5 for me.

You might be surprised how few states have a lot of performance oriented places, and with quite a few BMWs being Xdrive these days, even fewer have all wheel drive dynos. I moved to nebraska for work for a year and a local shop hired me to tune cars, there wasnt an AWD dyno within 300 miles of them, and the 2WD dynos wanted a fortune because of being the only ones in the area.

On top of that, many dont understand rear wheel horsepower versus flywheel horsepower and get very disappointed when seeing their numbers and either wont post a graph, or only list the "calculated flywheel horsepower" numbers to try and compete. I have my dyno up in the thread where I posted about my ESS Tuning piggy back, but its nothing special or out of the ordinary (right on par with everyone elses gains) so I guess I just didnt think anyone wanted to see it.

2014 550xi
Catless AA down pipes
Meistershaft exhaust
Badblack air filters
custom Enzo Tune
DYNO- Mainline (lowest ready dyno) for reference it is roughly 14%-18%lower then DynoJet.
491WHP & 510WTRQ - Mainline dyno

Track times with slips (see threads)
1/4- 11.5 @ 120MPH
60ft- 1.6

VBOX Proven real world
0-60: 3.4 sec
0-100mph : 8.0 sec
60-130mph: 9.9 (been a while since I ran a new one)

The best part is, these numbers were all done on Rusted spark plugs, and a scared 7th cylinder that resulted in very little to no power in 5th gear.

So yea ...

Arc , is enzo doing dyno tunes on the n63's as well or just the TU's . I got sick and tired of the jb4 power delivery and ripped it out .

I also heard autocouture might be doing dyno tunes , any info on that?

Tune is only available on N63TU Motors.

I went from JB to REAL TUNE and let me tell you... A World of diffrence in Daily driving.
its like Stock + Steroids - Shouldn have come from factory.
JB had a tad bit more torque but the Tune really gave it the HP top end that it was missing.

tunes can be done on N63 engines as well, it just requires you buy a new PCM.

Iam sure the stage 2 is better since it build boost slightly differently , But the stage 1 would either be a super hard pull in 2nd or stock like feel. Albeit that it could have been due to heat soak but the power delivery was very volatile and aggressive .

Which some people may like but the slightest throttle input would jerk the car which i did not enjoy.

Thats why I recommended the ESS piggy back because you can dial in where you want the boost. My car drives 100% stock other than the power increase but its linear and not at the torque spike like the modules that just add boost everywhere and cause the knock sensors to freak out. If you drove my car and a 100% stock 550i next to it, the only difference is how hard it pulls... not a single ounce of drivability issue or anything I have to "deal with". The stage II is significantly worse as it tricks the IAT sensor into reading a hot temp at all times to pull timing... A sacrifice some are willing to make for more power, but something most people dont want to deal with on a daily driver.

Ahh the old logic of "because no one around here can do it, it isnt possible" If it wouldnt cost me $800 for a PCM on top of the tune, I would have already done it, but since I have to replace the ECU each time I want to tune it, im just going to wait until I do some big mods worthy of it.

rest assured though, its possible
