Please sign this thread to protest lack of M-Sport Suspension
Please attach your post to this thread if you wish to protest the removal of the M-Sport Suspension from the 2014 M-Sport Package. BMW's decision is absurd. What is the point of offering a M-Sport "aesthetic only" package? I have always understood BMW to be about cars that perform well in an authentic manner. Now they just seem to value aesthetics that looks like car performs well. In reality the new M-Sport package adds nothing to the performance of the 550 M-Sport. It is all a bunch of fakery. It is just like the fake kidney grills on the i3 that do absolutely nothing. And the fake engine sound on the M5 that spews from the audio system. The motto for BMW should not be Efficient Dynamics but FAKE DYNAMICS.
I am going to attach a copy of this thread to a letter to BMW North America and express our extreme frustration new unspoken motto of FAKE DYNAMICS. My situation is this: I ordered a 2014 BMW 550i M-Sport (BMW Number 8 for me) based upon the following on the BMW USA web site: Here is what BMWUSA.COM said about the Msport Package when I placed my order. M Sport The M Sport ensures that your 5 Series Sedan will dominate to the Mth degree. Unique design touches include: M Aerodynamic Kit 19” light alloy wheels, double spoke design M Steering Wheel M wheels and suspension Exclusive M colors and trims Enjoy all these signature details for $3050. Please support this effort by attaching a post to this thread. Thank you.

Good luck with this, but I doubt anything will happen. Similar to the whole 2013 550 engine fiasco. Initial BMW literature stated new motor, orders were placed under that assumption, turns out was still the same motor. I'm not aware of anybody receiving any sort of compensation for this sort of error.

Placed ordered on 2x 5 series for ED, 1 being a 535i with M-sport. Later found out M suspension is removed compared to MY13. They increased the package cost and removed the suspension... The worst is that there was no mention of this change in any of the press release. BMW's own website isn't very helpful (and cannot be relied on) as it contains a lot of errors in that matter. The "M wheels and suspension" is definitely an error because it's not stated on the MY14 528/535.

Seriously, what a disappointment. I have had so many BMW I lost count, the first one to disappoint me a little was the 2011 550i F10, coming from a 2008 550i M sport, I felt a huge difference and realized BMW was becoming a “Lexus”, but I got used to the f10.
I said to myself that when my lease was up I would replace it with another brand, a bit scary because I did not know which, but then I saw the 2013 M sport with the M sport suspension and read that the LCI would improve steering and handling, great news, I was saved, no need to find another brand, BMW realized their mistake and they were returning to being a BMW, I could buy a 2014 550i M sport. But now, I read in the forums that the 2014 will not have the M sport suspension, I still hope is a mistake, how can this be possible? It does not make sense. So, now back to looking for a replacement, my lease is up in Feb (6 months from now), I was looking forward to my 4th ED. Well, I will keep my fingers crossed hoping is all a mistake and the LCI does have an M sport suspension, but I will start working on a replacement selection process in case it does not. |

SIGNED. Better off, link to the other HUGE threads on various forums of anger towards the leaving out the superb 704 M suspension which finally started to get the F10 the dynamic respect it deserves.

The passive sport suspension on the 2013 M sport should have been the standard suspension from day one. Maybe it is for 2014. Until the suspension on these new cars is tried and found lacking it is a bit premature to make demands. Give it a test drive and see if it is all that bad.

This is what i sent to bmw.
Hi I was looking forward to ordering a 14' 535 to replace my 335 but I'm very disappointed with the seeming lack of a M suspension. It appears it's only offered in the 535d and 550. With the 535 being such a dynamic car I fail to see the logic more so that the m sport line is already an added cost option. Even with that i suspect many would even pay more for the m suspension with the lowered stance as an additional stand alone adoption, but sadly that is not even offered. After driving both suspensions, I hope this gets addressed as the vague handling without the m sport suspension is enough for me to look at other brands. Response: To Whom It May Concern: Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding the 2014 BMW 535i. * Our BMW engineering and design teams are dedicated to creating vehicles that move today’s consumers and their demand for enhanced utility and more versatility. *Customer feedback plays an integral role in improving product design and development. *We appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts; your sentiments will be heard and considered. They recently "fixed" the BMW USA website so that the "build your own" now does not even show "m sport suspension" for any of the LCI F10 models.

The folks who want a Lexus like F10 will get the luxury line. The msport line is for folks who want a more involved driving experience. This is a BMWUSA decision. This real m suspension is offered elsewhere in the world.

So it looks like BMW will be bringing back the M suspension on later builds (Sept.+)? In that case we have successfully helped potential buyers getting their M suspension, while we got screwed. Good stuff.

You can add to me to the list. I have a 2013 msport w the msport suspension. It's sad but when my lease it up, I'm probably going to look elsewhere. I was simply underwhelmed by the LCI msport. I don't need to spend 3k for a body kit and steering wheel. Shame on BMWUSA for taking away the great passive msport suspension.

The F10 needs the M-Sport suspension to be a proper BMW. It's sad that even has to be said, because you used (previous generations of BMW) to be able to get a proper BMW without having to buy these stupid packages.

Add me to this list.
I've been nothing but a loyal BMW customer ever since I started driving and this leaves a really bad taste in my mouth if BMW decides to screw 2014 5 series owners who got early July/August builds by leaving out the Msport suspension just to then correct their mistake in September build cars Alan
