Does anyone know when BMW usually allows for 48 month leases on new cars? Only thing delaying my order is that they only offer 39 months.. When did they start allowing it on the 2011 535?

Well my dealer did say I could order now and he'd hold the car for me till BMW lets us do 48 haha

^ Your dealer should find out for you.

It seems like BMW Canada wants people to buy out the car after short term leasing, given that the residual is so ugly low ... BMW Canada is making the lesee pay much higher lease payment and entice them with ultra low residual at end of lease term.

IMO, the residual is at least 3-4 basis points lower than last year, given that the car has just shown up in Canada.

Want to know what is the lease rate vs the finance rate right now?

I am asking for Canada.

HK no leasing. Although they call it leasing, is actually financing in substances.

So they actually want you to buy the car instead of leasing it.

^ I see you profile says HK and you have a 523i ... no such model in Canada. That's why I thought you are asking

My dealer said he had no idea when it would be offer.. Following my 2011, he expected it to be around march... I don't want to wait anymore.. I want my car so bad but it just makes more sense financially to go for 48 rather than 39

Catch 22 ... let's say there will be a 48 month lease term available in March 2012, by then the residual will have changed as well, meaning it will be at least 3 more points lowered than today's posted residual. That would mean higher monthly payment as well at that time, your only hope to counter this is to ask for mor discount and/or hope the lease rate will have dropped as well.

Therefore, I think you should just bite the bullet and do the 39 months term and enjoy the car !
