Need brakes/rotors

I'm at the 30k mile mark and my brakes are starting to seriously wear out... Does anybody have any suggestions for brakes and rotors for my 528xi!

30k? aren't you covered under maintenance warranty? i've had mine serviced for the front and rears already

What is your indication for the brakes being worn out? Noise? Appearance? Indication from the control screen/maintenance message? Just curious as to why you think they're getting worn out.

I'm at 23k and everything is still near new. What on earth do you do to your brakes?!

Factory equipment. Period.

Very hard hesitation throughout the car when braking, they are not as responsive early on the break as they use to be. If i'm going 45 to 0 its as if i was going 90 to 0. I'm never hard on my brakes; however, my mother uses my car on occasions as well and her braking is absolutely awful.

The original owner of my car apparently lived in NYC, the servicing dealer was in the Bronx near Shea Stadium and LaGuardia Airport. I don't have the Carfax anymore, but my recollection is they did a complete brake replacement at around 30K miles. It happens.

As for the OP, could be a good brake bleed may be all that is needed. Really not hard at all with two people, a jack, and about $10 worth of materials. While you are in there, you can visually check the pad thickness, although if they are truly whupped you should be getting the brake wear indicator light on your dash.

Hi arko528

They should last longer than 30k

I have had my rear pads done at 32k and still on my original fronts at 38k

Could it be something else

Try the home remedy for $10 as suggested by the fellow forum member
Worth a shot for sure

Also the computer diagnostics should tell you how many miles til your front/rear brakes need to be serviced
