Front Grill Option Recomendations

I am not one who modifies my car. Never done it.

But I am thinking about taking that first bold step. So courageous.

I have a carbon black, M-sport 550 with stock chrome front grills.

Pondering either black (gloss or matte) or possibly carbon fiber.

But I'm worried the grills will just disappear.

Any recommendations? Any photos with that body color?

Here's one recommendation...take a look at the link below, if you've not already seen it, and see what everyone is doing with their F10s. It's NOT specific to grills, but in general you can see what is popular.

Then...just PM the person that you think you like what they've got going on with their car. You can go to the different sites that sell the grills for the F10 too, but sometimes they don't show the grill on the car.

I bought a $38 China special grille from Astra Depot on Amazon. Matte Black, single slat. My car is imperial blue and I've replaced all the chrome bits with matte black.

Fit was close enough to stock that I can't tell a difference. Has held up well since I bought them in June.

Here is mine which is a double slatted with M colors. The was like the first or second mod I did for my car (I think after getting windows tinted)

Edit: once you starting modding, its just keeps going and going and going....

ah perfect thread just to post pictures of my car

i have 2 options for mine...here's single slat carbon fiber rings. hard to tell it's carbon fiber unless you get up close to the car or if the sun is out it hits and kinda reflects like in the 3rd picture

but i like the double slat in gloss black!

I do like the double slatted. I just went with the black glossy more stock look.

get the gloss double slatt vpatel! you'll really like the way it looks...to me it looks more sporty! i would have got the carbon fiber version double slats but i wasn't about to drop that much in grills again after getting the single in carbon fiber

I might have to give that a try does look sporty. They are $50-60 on ebay/amazon.

The problem is that I think they all look really good.

And I have never really been bothered by the chrome.

Yes, one of only 97 550s made in 2013 with the antiquated transmission and the last year BMW did so. It is very fun to drive.

I agree. With dark colors (I have Carbon Black too), I like (have) the M5-look of chrome surrounds with black slats, so that you can still see the outline of the grilles.

I love my setup , not to sound like a jerk. Or tooting my own horn. And I know people talk bad about leds and lighting. But I LOVE the grill lights and people seem to really enjoy it when they see the car: people stop me all the time to say something about the lights.

Whoa! Those LEDs are something else.

Too much I think for a first time "modder."

I think I'm leaning toward the double slat, with either chrome or black around the edge. More of a change from what I have.

Though I think all of these photos look great. Fun to see so many folks enthusiastic about their cars. I'm had mine for 5 years and I still think it looks spectacular.
