Tuning reliability?
I'm new to all this so please forgive me.
I just recently got a 2015 535i M sport + Ms exhaust I was wondering how the JB4 tunes or any other like Dinan would effect the reliability of my car. If did a tune like JB4 where it will void my warranty, can I just re-flash it to its normal state when they want to take a look at it? Will I see a significant increase in drivetrain issues down the road? Is it even worth? I am planning on getting the BMS intake so that I can hear the turbo a bit more. Any help would be much appreciated.

No tune is going to void your warranty, that is illegal. Consumers are protected under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
Specific components can have declined warranty coverage if failure is able to be determined a product of tampering or modification though. Most mild tunes provide to shortened life span or other ill effects. Dinan for example is extremely overpriced and under performing. JB4 is not a flash, it is a piggy back device that hijacks sensor outputs to manipulate readings as seen to the DME and fool it into raising the boost target. Get a proper flash tune as provided by Mission Performance and you can flash the car from stock to tuned and back in 2-3 minutes. Its really the way to go. |

The Mission Performance is much more $$$ vs the JB4! Although the performance gain is almost the same.

That is False. JB4 doesn't give you the same power overall. A tune is Superior to JB4 in the fact it makes more power consistently throughout the power band curve (Lower to High RPM). Tuning involves more than Peak Power.

You'll realize that this intake is just sucking up HOT air because the OEM air scoops aren't big so air is NOT rushing/force into that area(which can't be good) & whatever cool air is lost into engine bay. OEM Is sealed which keep any cool air within system. I have a BMS juice box stage1 & throttle sprint booster, the only issue I deal with is a CEL from time to time saying throttle angle due to the sprint booster over riding oem throttle settings. I do approx 80miles a day. Every time I went for for service I removed the Mods. Good luck

As long as you pick a proven tune and select the recommended map, you wont notice any change in reliability
