LoL, I am too old to get down on the ground with the bunnies (well getting down would be easy, it's the getting back up part!)

Luckily, he was up on a levee that brought him almost perfectly level with the window of the jeep I was in.

Ed, looks like that bald eagle came to your studio for a portrait!

Thanks guys. It couldn't have been better conditions. 70 degrees, blue sky, and perched in great light. Doesn't happen often!

And Dave, I didn't have to sit on the ice for hours to nab it, it landed right as I was driving the auto tour route at the NWR

Truth be told, over 90% of my shots are out the window of my M3. When the light is good, I get out and scour a large territory that I couldn't possibly cover on foot.

Almost all of my coyote shots are out the window, like this one from Saturday:

Saw that one on your Flickr. Very nice.

I generally prefer to have some metal between me and coyotes when I shoot them anyway, lest they get any ideas

Great shots, Ed and DC. I see eagles and coyotes all the time. Usually at least a mile away.

In C-17's we could deploy the thrust reversers in flight to get a decent rate of almost 20,000 ft per minute, but it made a lot of noise and was a pretty shaky (not to mention slightly terrifying)ride down. This kite drops silently out of the sky onto its unsuspecting prey below with lethal speed and stealth that mother nature has perfected.

Wow, 20,000 FPM?? Didn't that pretty much make you float, like in NASA's Vomit Comet?

If you weren't strapped in, you wouldn't float, you would be stuck to the ceiling

Ed, nice close-up of Baldy. It's a close as you get at one of those raptor-rescue shows.

I'm beginning to think Ed has discovered an invisibility cloak and is just keeping it secret.
