Relocating Exhaust For M5 Diffuser
Is there room to relocate or move over the exhaust from a stock 550 muffler to fit an M5 diffuser? Is it pretty difficult?

I plan on getting aftermarket tips. What I want to know if there is room to shift the pipes over (having a muffler shop make some angled pipe from the mufflers to attach the tips) to make the tips look straight where they pass under the diffuser notch.

Im putting it on a 535 Msport. Someone suggested to cut mufflers of and just put quad tips as there is a mid muffler already there. Is this accurate and anyone has done this? |

You can join the long list of us looking for stock m5 mufflers, with the extra black part frm get bmw parts the diffuser is a direct fit on the msport bumper with no modifying at all and no cutting if you get the sensor insert.

It can be done but is difficult as hell and will depend on the exhaust you use. If you go with stock or some of the aftermarket exhaust then they will not line up with the diffuser and there will be little room for even a good shop to construct enough of a bend to allow them to exit properly. Search for my post on this and pics attached. Some folks have gotten Akrapov and OEM M6 or OEM M5 cans to fit w/an M5 rear diffuser but not stock or Eissenman. The cans are just too large and not enough space unless you start cutting into metal/frame/cross members. Also re-location of the rear comfort sensors will be required and has bedeviled some. Search around..plenty of posts...good luck man.
