question on 2012 f10 HUD

should my f10's HUD be in full color?? I have a 2012 535xi.

i remember that it should be.. for some reason my HUD is always only white or orange..

is this because it's a canadian car? did BMW mess up when i ordered? i'm so confused right now..

what sort of colors/pictures should i be getting on my windshield? i want to know if something is wrong with mine.. i did have to pay $1500 CAD for it..

if you have active cruise control, you also get the car symbol indicating you are potentially going to hit the car in front, or it can indicate that are car in front is preventing you cruising at your selected speed. This is orange in colour.
basically repeats what ou se on your instrument cluster but in cull colour as shown on the previous screen shot or if at night, its all orange in colour to match your instrument cluster.
all very good and I drive with it on the whole time.

The arc / line symbol basically means "cruise control enabled", it will disappear i.e. when braking or pressing the I/O button. The line is just a part of the symbol, it doesn't move.

When setting a new CC speed or enabling the CC, the preset speed will appear in small digits under that arc and then disappear again after a couple of seconds.

Yes please post some pictures, this doesn't right to me.

At its most basic , it will just display your speed and control messages which to be fair are eitehr white (daytime) or orange (night)
Extra information is based upon what you have specified for your car. so nav will obviously only display if you have nav installed, the fact that you have HUD I would assume thats the case anyway. As dodgy posted, the nav should be in colour during the day nad its oragen at night.
Then ther are otehr optional featuresif you have them installed, spedlimit display, lane departure (I assume - i don't have that), active cruise control symbols over above what standard cruise control shows you.

I recall there being an automatic / day /night mode I think in the setting for the nav but assume thats applicable to the lcd display only.

very odd though.

It also throws up all sorts of warnings, like if you drive off with the handbrake on, or if the door is open - that kind of thing.
