BMW Service

Hello,

My 2015 535i M-Sport is due for a service. (I got the notice from the car a few weeks back)

I'm still under the 10K milage and its been over a year. Got the car in March of 2015. Currently at 8800 miles.

My question is about the BMW service/maintenance. I just got my Vorsteiner V-FF 102 (Carbon Graphite) installed yesterday and want to know if BMW will be removing the rims off the car to do the inspections that consist of the cars first service. (I would take it as the roaters/brake pads that they would need to review)

The reason I ask this is because of how the rims will be removed and the tools they use. I don't want the rims to chip in regards to where the lugs are being removed/re-screwed.

I have my car coded, do they reset everything again?

That is my only concern along with telling them not to wash my car since the stories I've heard from other members. Apologize for being a tad paranoid but just wanted to hear anyones thoughts that also have aftermarket rims.

Thank you.

Hey rebuk! As you can see I have $$ wheels so regardless if they are going to remove your wheels be the smarter one and put back your stocks on as BMW will not be responsible if they do damage them. I've heard horror stories and denial not just from here but other car forums regarding their cars. So why take a chance. Regarding the car being washed I know I read here someone specifically told BMW not to wash their car and even they still washed his car Lol and left swirl marks all over

Just telling them to not wash your car is a hit and miss affair. What a number have done is make up some signs in big font, bright colors, that says do not wash and then put on the dash, front and back

I always make them put a sign in the front window that says DO NOT WASH.

When I take my car in I take a video of the car in the dealers car park showing the dealership and then I go around the whole car and get close up shots of the wheels. I'll point this out to the service adviser as well, so that there is no doubt what the condition of my car and wheels was when I dropped it to them.

I'm paranoid too!

Thank you for all the suggestions. I couldn't get the rims off for my service today morning but did take a video/photo of the rims, etc.

They said its only an oil change and the basic review of the car.

Also I said NO CAR WASH twice. The funny thing, while I'm typing this in the lounge area there are a few other customers around me also waiting. Each service advisor that has came up to grab the customers, told them we didn't give your car a wash per your request. You would think this is something BMW could change in the years ahead just to take it up a notch.

Just depends on your dealer. I don't even go the closest dealer b/c they suck at life, I drive 10 more miles further away to get the hook up. They do an awesome job washing the car and I always take them up when I get coupons for a detail, they even clay bar the
