550i catalytic converters N63 v N63TU

Anyone know if the catalytic converters are different between the n63 and n63tu? I know the part numbers are different but are the internals different? Like the cells inside the cats. I have n63tu cats on my n63 and I get 13mpg all city driving though.

I don't think there's a difference. The only difference is the early years have bolt on flanges to the exhaust whereas the newer models have slip on.
