o dear...scratched fr bumper and 1/4 panel

Damnit. Shaved off a fair amount of paint from the bumper and front left 1/4 panel pulling into my garage. Also pushed my painted reflector into the bumper well. No gouges dents or bends though.

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what I am going to have to cough up for repairs?

No. It just scraped a flexible thin metal lip that is part of the guide.

OK, so not part of the guide. Part of a metal door seal.

The spot above the camera is where the paint is scrapped off to the plastic.

Looks like the panel may buff out. Not 100%.

It should buff out. Meguiars 105 with an orange pad followed up with meguairs 205 with a white pad should take out the bulk of the scuff. There may still be some residual damage left but nothing nearly as bad. By hand will work but orbital or rotary (if you're experienced and careful) would be best. Becarefuel with the edges if you are using a machine polisher especially the rotary.

like what Mr Clean said try that. you'll get most of it out but you'll probably have a slight mark but unless it really bothers you than you'll have to get it repainted

i would try CG's V32 followed by V34 with the orange hexlogic pad and finish off with V36 or V38 with a white hexlogic pad

I'm bringing my car to the shop this week to replace all four bent rims anyway so I will probably let them deal with the paint damage at the same time.

Pushed my painted reflector into the bumper well also...grrrrr.

Looks to me like the garage jumped out at him when he was pulling in. Garages have been known to do that...

If I had to swag it, I'd say probably somewhere in the $1k-1.5k range just to repaint, assuming no damage.

I've gone to pay for 2 different bumper cover repaints, and both of those were under $800. Z4 was quoted at around $750 for front bumper cover. Acura MDX was $550 for rear bumper cover - keep in mind the painted portion is much smaller on the MDX.

I'm assuming the fender would be about the same. Hard to tell in pics, but as long as there's no physical damage (ie., dents/bends), should just be able to sand and repaint.

**The Z4 ended up being a tad over $2k in repairs, but covered under comprehensive so it didn't hurt my premium. I had hit a racoon and thought it was just bumper damage, so I was just planning on covering it out of pocket. Body shop said it had bent the A/C condenser coil, and that bumped up the cost a bit.

id say you will have to pay around 6 bills just for the bumper to be perfectly fixed and color matched , any more is a rip off. (IF you gonna do it at some indy/private shop prolly will be even a bit less)
unless there are big price differences between CA and east coast prices lol
