DTUK Tuning Box
I posted this in the tuning section but thought I may have more luck here as it is a UK forum...
Anyone had a tuning box from Diesel Tuning UK? Love to get some feedback.

Yes; dont bother ! At the full retail its not value for money IMO - might do better to try one privately and far cheaper being resold on EBaY or similar (but ask why !)
You will see a gain - at least in my experience for the 4-pot diesels, but the adjustment +/- doesnt seem to do owt. Service is certainly responsive, but somewhat 'content-free' - in my opinion shallow. The Product is being sold on here with some added value (German Manufacturer ...) I bought it on the strength of: - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ight=DTUK+maps UK BMW Dealers Service investigating failures make a point of looking for evidence of previous fitment of such boxes, so altho 'transparent' in fitting - beware !

Thanks
Was also looking at Racechip as that has some genuine reviews with rolling road evidence of power increse. But the Racechip only connects to the fuel sensor whereas the DTUK also connects to the torbo sensor, so I thought it may be a better option... Think Racechip is the way forward! |

Ah and as to why, my last X5 was the twin turbo version of this engine and I had it remapped. This car was unbelievably quick for a 2.5 ton beast.
I can't remap the F10 so have been looking at tuning boxes as our American friends seem to be using them quite extensively without issues. Just love power I guess, wanted a 535d but the car I bought had £7k woth of cosmetic mods and I decided to give up the one turbo as a compromise. |
