Garage surprise...

So I went to grab my car from the park & lock garage and I was pleased to see that someone decided to wipe the car with their bumper. Looks to be that the passenger door and the rear quarter panel were damaged. Questions:

- is BMW service the best option for bodywork repair?
- what do you think the cost would be to repair without going through insurance?

Many thanks, lolshorts.

Give Martino auto concepts a call. They are in long island and they do perfection. Lots of forum guys use them as well as exotics. They are also a sponsor on this forum.

As for cost no idea without any pictures.

Same happened to me a week after i purchased my car in NY in a park & lock with the same damage in the same door....lol. I took it to a auto body place I've always dealt with in NJ and it cost me $1200.

Go with reputable shop like Alan suggested. BMW does not specialize in body work, and usually outsource the work, so going there is a crapshoot as well. Go to a good shop and you will be fine

take pictures of it and post it here. Sometimes body repair is not necessary.

Contact C&D Autobody in South Hackensack NJ. They are amazing. BMW NA uses them for all factory or damaged cars off the ship.

BMW service would just outsource it to a reputable shop. Ask the service manager who in your area is approved to fix BMWs, then they should tell you. Take it directly to shop and eliminate the middle man.

As for insurance, the rule of thumb for me is triple the deductable to make the claim. So if you're paying $500 deductable, don't claim it unless it costs more than $1,500.
