It's up to the dealer to let you out of that lease but with the kind of upgrade your looking at I cant imagine them giving you a hard time.

I was quoted 8k to get out of my 335i lease a year early to step into a CPO M5. They were NOT accommodating.

Let me know… From: ***l [mailto:***@credit-suisse.com] Sent: Thursday, February 10, 2011 12:41 PM To: *** Subject: RE: *** lease return and purchase of M3/M5/M6 Nearly 7k miles, the car is never driven, i only have it as a weekend driver. I put like 350 miles a month on it.. $596 per month June 2009 was when i entered the lease soo im guessing 16 more payments.. |

Depends how attached you are to a consumable, depreciating item.
Its obviously not a smart financial decision, but you already know that. You want a service (out of lease and into an M5), the market will provide that for you at a steep cost. Its a "luxurY" material item...its gonna cost you a pretty penny to trade up. Unless you're a hedge fund manager or CEO of some Fortune 500 company (at which point you would be on the private jet forums and wouldn't worry about the pointless machines that travel on the ground)...its def gonna hurt your pocketbook. Edit: even they would prob re-invest that money into their fund. |

Consider SwapaLease.com! Depending on the terms of your lease and the remaining miles, you should be able to find someone willing to take over your lease. Money can go either way with a lease swap, sometimes you will pay and sometimes they will pay you.
I think the dealer isn't a great source to go if you want to exit a lease. They might make it easy for you, but you'll likely lose a bunch more money than you need to. |
