Cabin noise

Three week old 520 and I have a persistent buzz, sounds like a loose component, coming from centre of the dash. Its clearly something resonating at certain revs and when going over bumps. Really irritating given how fantastically quiet the car is otherwise. Anyone had a similar problem? Always worried that if the dealer opens up the dash they will simply leave something else loose!

Could be....I'll give it a try thanks. However the buzz seems to be coming from dead centre upper dashboard although it could be reflecting. I see tomorrow and post again if need be.

I've had mine in for the same problem. Not totally fixed as the noise will manifest itself once in a while but less than than prior to the fix and I can live with it now. It was hard for the dealer to work on it as it only manifested itself under certain situations where the resonance of the road vibrations would trigger the sounds. What the dealer did was pad/tighten the airbag assemblies in the pillars and the doors. The sounds were very similar to some types of static on a radio - that's the best way I could describe it - sort of like a buzz. It seemed to come from the dash/windscreen area but with careful listening under the right conditions the noise was isolated to the pillar on the passenger side (right-side over here) and the upper door panel of the driver's door - it's like a leaky roof - the drip from the ceiling is never where the leak is.
