BMW F10 5-series finally hits the ring!

Well folks, the next big step in the upcoming 5-series technical development has finally arrived. The car has now been seen lapping the famed Nurburgring.

The new 5 is still seen wearing its heavy armour suit, but the car is said to borrow heavily from the BMW Concept CS styling to create a more reserved but aggressive look at compared to the current car.

Whats to be expected?

Unsurprisingly, the car will have big kidney grills, ala Concept CS, new 7-series and X6.

Conservative headlights with integrated LED powered 'eyebrows' similar to the current 7-series in idea.

The car will also be a technological advancement platform that will see further evolutions in BMWs EfficiencyDynamics push. Expect to see advancements in regenerative braking technology, more advanced ZF engineered transmissions and increased use of turbo-powered engines.

This car is also said to be the basis platform for the upcoming "PAS" which stands for Progressive Activity Sedan which will be a crossover vehicle that will mix traits from a 5 series sedan and a similar sized Wagon/SUV.

Yeahhhhh, I'm getting the same feeling too. I don't know why, but like you said, everything looks like it's going to be perfect! I really can't wait to see this.

fellas don't sleep on this. If I can't get an M5 or second hand M5 in good time, I am getting this!

a 4.4 twin turbo v8 engine dumpin 400hp / 450lbft torque??? are u kidding me???
this is the most exciting non M engine ever!

this must do some damn numbers and CRUSH the competition yet again.

555i is definitely what this is and I want it. I still want an M but i would love this as a daily driver.

The mpg should be decent for that amount of power.

I can't wait for more revealing shots of the body. I am tempted to hop on to a midnight/monaco blue 550i sport.

The current headlights on the 5 are the best looking and most distinguished BMW headlights.

You can't even see what the car looks like with all the heavy armour and you call it ugly? Do you also know how much it weighs?

im loving how big and upright (slightly shark nosed even) the kidney grills are!! So concept CS!!!

with quad exhaust, massive brakes, and appearing to be low to the ground this looks like an M5, not a 555i (which will probably just have dual exhaust like the X6 twin turbo V8 and the spy photos of the new 7er with the same engine), but who knows?

Wow, I didn't even realize there was a "5post". I guess E90post will be renamed to "3post" once the F30 becomes more prevalent in spypics and blogs.

So, will the F10 M5 be a turbo V10, or remain naturally aspirated. That's the big question.
