Seat clicking on turning left
Just wondering if anyone else experiences a small click or slight movement in the drivers seat when cornering hard.

I had a little upwards movement and click under my right thigh when accelerating lightly. Drove me batty. Could hear and feel. Click, click, click. After a small amount of insistence they replaced the seat rails. This occurred after about 20K miles in my 335i. Sometimes a small item like this can ruin the experience. Paul

it does that sometimes on my F10, but it doesn't occur enough to bother me. I do get annoyed by these things, but this one's not so bad as my previous car.

I have found that a lot of clicking is coming from my Sun Visor. The vinyl is evidently sticking to components in the assembly and on driving and vibration, makes a noise. I just ususally swing it down and work it a little and the noise goes away for a couple of days. Obviously this has nothing to do with the seat, but thought it might give you another avenue to check for "clickning" noises.

No doubt that it does. I would try one other thing. Move your seat to the extremes (like all the way up, all the way forward, all the way reclined) and then go back to your memory position.
Just a long shot that it might get reset,...... so it doesnt click. |

Wondering if anyone else has had this seat noise - the click on cornering? My 2012 535i driver's seat does the click when turning right (only occasionally when turning left).
Totally agree with the OP - just waiting for the click on each right turn is infuriating. It's actually in the shop right now for service attempt #4 - I finally got the shop manager in for a test drive, and he sat in back and heard the problem. Suspects a loose or broken plastic clip inside there somewhere. |

I have this too on cornering.... usually happens once or twice at the beginning of a drive and then stops.... you can actually feel it in the seat bottom as though something inside the seat is shifting.

OK, I am glad I searched and found this thread. I have exactly the same problem as above. Only recently it has started to happen (sayin the last month or so). When I drive away from my home on our side street, at about 100 yards, I have to make a right at the stop sign. The first right hand turn of the morning, it does this. It feels like if one of the bolts holding the seat down being a bit loose and the seat kind of wiggling/clicking just a tiny bit (like a loose bolt would cause.) I have occasionally noticed it in the evening drive from work to home as well, and it is always only the first few blocks of driving that this can happen in (and only once.) I have checked and nothing in the back seat pocket, nothing under the seat that can move around and hit the seat, no seat belt clicking, etc. Has anyone of the above had the problem fixed? |
