I never do the AS1, but people do it all the time. Each state has different tint laws on what is allowed.

yeah but out here in Butt nowhere Ohio they may feel like they can charge more cause it is a BMW and not a Chevy, Ford or Dodge

I have never priced out in Ohio, so I could not say. I just have read a fair amount of threads as well as my own experiencing pricing out found there to be a premium. I do know places that will charge more because BMW and their lovely features like dot matrix take much more effort and care; though, the matrix is not traditionally raised on front windshield like rear or side windows. i'm going to call BMW and see where they sent my car to get tinted so the tint will be the same all the way around

I believe that if you go 50% ceramic tint on the windshield with a 7"ish (have them get a tape measure and show you) strip of limo tint on the top and you will be fine. I can take a pic tomorrow in the daylight and you can see what it looks like.

I think what ever you do keep the percentage the same all the way around to keep it consistent. Variants on shades looks wowed in day light. Night you good

It actually doesn't look that dark... Must be the angle, the "lid" was closed and the other windows are also tinted.

I'll try another with the lid open...

I also have the sun shades for the rear doors and power rear sun shade. So that helps keep it super dark as well.

Not legal, won't insurance have a problem if you have an accident?
If not legal, and there is doubt who caused an accident, if there is a ticket issued for dark tint, I'd say liability will fall on the dark tint.

Lets put it this way, if I was in an accident, and car had tints, I'd ask the officer to look at it. I'd take pictures of it.

I kinda feel it's way too dark. I don't see the need for taking it that far to be honest. In my view, it's asking for trouble, with cops and insurance in case something ever goes wrong.

On my wife's car, we have very light tint, and visibility is just not as good at night in areas outside of city core.
