I,personally, would have no use for them.More $$$...just another thing to malfunction...and I wouldn't trust their effectiveness/safety.Same thing with the electric trunk lid.

Used to own a Volvo 850. My wife & everyone else used to slam my trunk close. I got the comfort access feature to overt the trunk issue. I must say its kinda cool with the doors closing easy even though I do have to school the new riders about the feature. I enjoy the feature.

I don't understand why people keep saying that they need to "teach" the passengers about the auto door feature or be horrified when they slam the door shut. You can slam the doors as hard as you want and works just as if it didn't have this feature. I got friends that slam my doors all the time and sounds and functions just the same as normal doors... except the motor still works after the door is shut.
It's not going to break the door or the auto shut feature... and if it does, you got warranty to cover it. Personally, I looooove this feature and would get it if available on every car I'm buying. People who slam doors shut will slam regardless of what car they get into... but that's another matter completely. |

Not sure if the closing sound is the same. Even if it does sounds the same with non soft-close doors F10 there something with soft-close doors that makes people to open the door and close it again.

Just food for thought in case anyone is considering purchasing a car with the soft-close option...the dealer is replacing one of the rear door modules on mine to the tune of $900, $490 for the part. Car has 54k miles.

I have Comfort Access with this feature, and it has been acting up a lot the past few months. I would not get it again. Everyone always slams the hell out of my doors anyway.
