Premium sound system speaker upgrade
Any gurus here tried to upgrade their Hifi Professional system yet?
I am thinking about replacing the tweeters and mid-range but keeping the appearance as stock as possible. Any suggestions? Many thanks.

I've heard very good things about Bavarian Soundwerks' upgrade kits.
http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/ Although they don't yet have products for the F10, they are in the works and will definitely be coming at some point. To get an idea, you can look at the E60 speaker upgrade kit they offer as well as the amplifier upgrade. The speaker kits are drop-in upgrades and are very easy to install. |

@mlai, if you already have the 16 speaker audio sistem on F10, best upgrade is to do nothing Just good music and miles and miles of beautifull roads.
The sistem is very well balanced, enough power volume, good quality sound and no vibrations and unwanted noise. What is bothering you? Not too much bass, or what? |

Granted, it is a matter of personal preferences so there is no such thing as "better" for everyone, but only better to oneself.......

Did not order my 535i. Picked it up srtaight from the showroom. It had the works (Nav, bluetooth, USB, Aux, 6 CD Chngr, DVD)
Butg guess what?... I found later that it has only 4 speakers. No Subs at all. Not even tweeters in the A frames by the mirrors. Go figure.. Not a day goes by that I don't regret not ordering one instead. Anyway, i'm just waiting for an upgrade kit to Logic7 or HiFi Pro. |

Anyone add a subwoofer to the trunk?
It seems it would be reasonably to do this with the battery already in the trunk. Is the amplifier in the trunk as well? The only think that may cause some trouble is tapping into the existing amp/wiring for a input and remote signals into the new amplifier. |

If you replace the speakers you risk messing up the Dirac optimization which could result in worse frequency response, stereo perception and other things you have payed for, having the Hifi professional upgrade.
Couldn't find a good summary of the technology, but here's a pressrelease from Dirac/Bentley that applies to BMW as well. http://www.dirac.se/news.asp?newsItem=1803 |
